Journey to the North Pole™ Event Safety Protocols

The following protocols have been put in place for the 2020 Journey to the North Pole™ event.  We want to ensure the safety of all guests, volunteers, staff, and of course, Santa!

Capacities on board the trains will be reduced to allow for social distancing between parties.

Picking up your event tickets:

  • One member of each party will pick up your tickets inside at the Will Call window in the railroad station.  Masks are required any time inside the railroad station.
  • If you would like to sit with another family on the train, you must contact our office well in advance of your departure date for your request.

Boarding the Train:

  • Que lines and spaces will be outside the stations.  Please be courteous of other families and social distance when possible.  Masks are required while waiting to board the train.
  • Each member in your party must have their ticket in hand before boarding.  Masks are required boarding the train and moving about the train.
  • Guests are free to remove their masks while seated on the train.  Guests will receive a piece of candy and have the opportunity to write a letter to Santa while aboard the train.  Hot Cocoa will not be served on the train this year.  Guests may bring their own non-alcoholic beverages for the ride if desired.  The train has a carry on/carry off policy so please be sure to not leave any additional trash behind.

At the North Pole:

  • Guests will exit the train and walk up to Santa’s Workshop.  While at the North Pole, guests are encouraged to drop off their letters for Santa at the North Pole Post Office. Guests will head into Santa’s Workshop where families will sit together on carpet spots.  We ask that you please social distance when possible and masks are required while inside Santa’s Workshop.
  • Santa will appear inside his Workshop but is unable to visit individually with each guest.
  • Families are encouraged to take photos when visiting the North Pole.
  • Outdoor restrooms will be available for use.

Leaving the North Pole:

  • Guests will board the train on the same platforms as they exited from.  Guests will return to their exact same seats.  Masks are required boarding the train and moving about the train.

Arriving back at the Train Station:

  • Masks are required when exiting the train and moving about the boarding platforms.  Please continue to wear a mask and social distance until returning to your vehicle.
